In order to volunteer at CSC, all applicants must …
- Be at least 18 years old and not enrolled in a local school district
- Complete a volunteer application that includes confidential felony and misdemeanor arrest/conviction information, permission to allow CSC to request Child Abuse/Neglect Central Registry, sex offender registry check, and a confidentiality agreement.
- Attend a CSC Volunteer Orientation
- Complete a phone interview with a CSC staff member
- Pay a $24 background check fee if approved to volunteer at CSC

Duties: Answer phones, answer door, sit with kids in the lobby, data entry, make files/parent packets, scan documents, sanitize toys in the playroom, organize donations, CSC scrapbook, various other CSC projects.
Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older, complete required background checks, and volunteer profile packet, complete interview with CSC staff member, complete appropriate orientation.
On Call Child Advocate
Duties: Provide emotional support to children and families during after hours appointments or weekends. Coordinate with investigators during the appointment, complete intake paperwork with non offending caregiver, provide information to assigned advocate and follow up as available.
Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older, complete required background checks and volunteer profile packet, complete interview with CSC staff member, complete mandatory four-hour training program, commit to volunteering for a minimum of two weekend days per month as well as six hour per month of volunteering during business hours.
Community Awareness / Prevention
Location: Various locations in the community or at the CSC
Duties: Be available to participate in booth events (health/safety fairs, childcare fair, job fair, etc.) and talk about the CSC services. Participate in CSC open house events, volunteer to set up/take down at CSC prevention events out in the community.
Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older, complete interview with CSC staff member and a volunteer profile packet, complete appropriate orientation to be knowledgeable and prepared to speak about the CSC
Duties: Provide emotional support to the children while they are at the CSC, provide advocacy to families as an on call child advocate, observe intakes with caregivers, accompany alleged victim in medical exam, gather items for clients to take home, paint child’s handprint on the wall, make follow up calls to families, make therapy referrals, observe forensic interviews, enter cases into CSC database and other administrative duties.
Qualifications: Must be enrolled in accredited university social work program with requirements by class to complete.
