THERAPIST
POSITION OVERVEW:
The Therapist is responsible for providing trauma focused mental health services to CSC clients and their non-offending family members. The Therapist is committed to enhancing the mission, vision, and values of the CSC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Operational Oversight:
- Assists CSC Mental Health Team members with duties, as needed
- Communicates regularly with CSC Mental Health team to ensure seamless service delivery to CSC clients
- Communicates regularly with CSC Advocacy Team in regards to CSC client’s mental health needs
- General Therapist Duties:
- Provide mental health services to CSC clients and their non-offending family members
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and trauma screeners with CSC clients and their non-offending family members
- Provide support and education to non-offending family members, as needed
- Provide crisis intervention, as needed
- Conduct risk assessments, as needed
- Attend required meetings
- Make referrals to appropriate outside mental health agencies, as needed
- Complete all required documentation
- Stay consistently informed on relevant issues
- Attend and/or testify in court hearings, as necessary
- Meet productivity requirements
- Relationship Building:
- Mentor CSC mental health interns
- Foster and maintain positive working relationship with CSC team and MDT partners
- Successfully fosters a team environment
- Strategically engages with outside mental health agencies to initiate appropriate networking affiliations
- Fiscal Responsibility:
- Provide program reports as required or requested by funding sources or the Executive Director
- Strategically and ethically utilizes CSC donations, resources and funding as it applies to the CSC Mental Health Program
Position Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (LMSW or LCSW) or Counseling (LAC or LPC), must be licensed in the state of Arkansas
- Must maintain liability insurance and keep license in good standing
- Complete 8 hours of professional development every 2 years, or as licensure requires
- Experience and/or in-depth knowledge of working with children who have experienced trauma
- Must abide by the Child First Doctrine
- Must adhere to the ethical code defined by counseling/social work licensing board
- Must be certified (or willing to train) in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
- Possesses highly developed interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and foster relationships with various professionals
- Good organizational skills, able to set priorities, and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively with interns
- Proficient in Google and Microsoft platforms
- Exceptional verbal, non-verbal, visual, written communication capabilities
- Successful completion of a background check
- Flexibility and willingness to travel as required
Scope of Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned, as needed.
- Provide individual therapy to CSC clients and maintain a caseload of 20-25 clients
- Conduct Child Adolescent Trauma Screeners in person or by phone, as needed
- Conduct and facilitate support groups for CSC clients and their non-offending family members
- Schedule therapy appointments and send reminders
- Communicate regularly with CSC Advocates by attending Advocacy/Mental Health staffing’s and/or one on one
- Attend and participate in weekly mental health staffing’s
- Attend and participate in weekly team meetings and “huddles”
- Attend MDT case review meetings to provide education, insight and/or case information to partner agencies
- Document all client interactions in Collaborate within 72 business hours, including: CATS, comprehensive assessments, individual sessions, phone or email contacts, attendance of sessions, etc.
- Timely document the following: required data for ARBEST, Mental Health Tracker, Therapy stats and Therapy caseload spreadsheet
- Document clients scheduled appointments on outlook calendar with required information
- Complete time sheets and expense reports timely to meet deadlines for grant funding
- Stays current in relevant issues via trainings and research (at least 8 CEU’s every other year)
- May supervise mental health interns
- Regularly update MH tracker and provide updates to CSC Advocates, as needed
- Attend and assist CSC Development team with fundraisers, as needed

Special Requirements: Willingness to occasionally work non-standard hours and over 40 hours per week, if needed.
