The Dream BIG Charity Gala is THE signature fundraiser for the Children’s Safety Center of Washington County. The CSC helps local child abuse victims by providing child advocacy, forensic interviewing, forensic medical exams, mental health therapy and child abuse prevention trainings. All of these services are provided FREE of charge to child abuse victims and their families. In 2021, over 600 child abuse victims received services at the CSC and we are up 29% in cases this year over last.

Since we opened in 1997, we have served over 13,000 children in Northwest Arkansas.

Why I support the Children’s Safety Center

“I already knew the Children’s Safety Center was a worthy cause.  It serves our children.  How could anything be more important?  Then I took a tour of the current facility to learn more.  As I entered the lobby, then walked the halls and every room throughout, it was hard to miss the brightly colored handprints decorating the walls from floor to ceiling.  Each handprint represents one child that had been helped through the center, 13,000 children since 1997.  That’s the year my own daughter, Rachel, was born.  In 25 years, the Children’s Safety Center has served our children through interviews, counseling, advocacy, and medical exams as well as prevention education in our schools.  This is extraordinary work, but the fact that there has been an increase of 49% in the last 8 years means there is a greater need to be met.

I am excited and proud to support the Children’s Safety Center and encourage each of you to give with enthusiasm to meet the capital needs of the new enlarged facility and ongoing support of our growing community.

Lastly, a special thank you to the individuals over the last 25 years that have cared for the smallest among us at the Children’s Safety Center.  Think of the thousands of teens and young adults in our community whose lives have been forever changed as a result.”
