THE DREAM
For years, the Children’s Safety Center (CSC) staff and Board of Directors have dreamed of a new facility built to expand our programs and improve the community’s access to our center. The CSC has been housed in a leased facility in downtown Springdale for more than 26 years, making accessibility from all corners of Washington County difficult and limiting the growth of our programs and staff. As we continue to make the best use of our space, we know its time to expand each of our programs ensuring we can educate and serve more of our community.
In the spring of 2019, we tested our dream and began our Healing the Future Campaign. We quickly found support from 100% of our staff and Board of Directors as well as a generous angel donor. On October 12th, 2021, we announced that the J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family had made a lead gift to our campaign of $3 Million. The children of our community deserve a dedicated facility where they can tell their stories and begin their journey to healing.
90% to our $15 Million goal!
the need

THE CHILDREN’S SAFETY CENTER HAS SEEN AN INCREASE OF 52% IN CHILDREN SERVED OVER THE LAST FIVE YEARS

NORTHWEST ARKANSAS IS PROJECTED TO HAVE NEARLY 1 MILLION RESIDENTS BY 2045

60% OF ARKANSAS CHILDREN HAVE EXPERIENCED AT LEAST ONE ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCE (ACE), THE HIGHEST OF ANY STATE
The Center has seen tremendous growth and accomplished much with minimal resources, but it is time to embark on a campaign for a new facility with better visibility, accessibility, and space to walk a child through the healing process. I hope you share our vision for the future and help the Center continue to be the light in the darkness.”

THE FUTURE
Our Healing the Future Campaign will improve our ability to empower children to overcome abuse and begin to trust, hope, and heal. Located in Springdale and easily accessible from 1-49, this new facility will be 3 times the size of our current space and designed to meet the CSC’s unique service needs, including:
-
- the first specialized therapeutic playground in the region
- soundproof interview rooms with 2-way mirrors and television feed for law enforcement
- ample, confidential space for services
- two medical suites
- better security for staff and clients
- dedicated training and technology space for community trainings
We are thrilled to be part of Springdale’s Care Corridor, providing care to NWA.
