#SpotlightSunday with Elizabeth Shackelford

What is your favorite thing about your job at the CSC?  The amazing CSC TEAM and how hard they work to help children and their families.

What is the biggest challenge you face with your job at the CSC?  Financial support because I’m constantly thinking or always being asked, “how do we grow financially, so we are able to hire additional staff who are needed, in order to continue providing all the critical services for all of Washington County?” The CSC helps all children, no matter what background they are from, and it is becoming more and more difficult to fit into various funders charitable giving.

What is one thing you wish the community knew about the CSC?  Many are not aware, but 90% of child victims are abused by a family member or someone they know and trust. Child abuse does not discriminate and the CSC helps children from all walks of life, who come from different backgrounds, etc.

What makes you smile?  A child leaving his/her handprint or footprint – because I know they will continue to receive help from the CSC team, for as long as they need us! Willow, our dog. Scott, my husband. All of my family and friends. Purses also do the trick!
