Kappa Delta Raises Money For the Children’s Safety Center

by Kinsey Garbett

Each year the Zeta Gamma Chapter of Kappa Delta at the University of Arkansas hosts a themed fall dinner, allowing the chapter to raise money for Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA) and the Children’s Safety Center of Washington County (CSC). Kappa Delta donates 20% of these funds to PCAA and 80% to the CSC to support children both locally and nationally!

Kappa Delta has been hosting these dinners and supporting the CSC for about 20 years, each year with a different theme. Fall Dinner 2021 was a pumpKin pΔtch themed event including everyone’s favorite fall things: pumpkin pie, apple cider, pumpkins, and more!

Over the last couple of decades, Kappa Delta has been able to donate upwards of $100,000 to the CSC through various events throughout the school year. As the chapter has grown, so has their support for the center. This year, they were able to raise $12,770.43 for the center just during this event. HOW AWESOME!!

With over 250 members volunteering to make the dinner happen, there were over 100 cars in the drive-through and 650 people in the house paying $5 each per ticket for food and activities! Community members and Kappa Deltas were also able to spend some time at a booth writing encouraging notes to the children seen at the CSC.

We are so thankful for the chapter’s commitment and creativity in order to put these events together!
