Event Details

On April 3, join the Children’s Safety Center in wearing blue to support Child Abuse Prevention Month and show your commitment to keeping kids safe.

Wear blue anywhere — to work, school, the gym, a community event, or at home. Invite your friends, family, coworkers, students, or your entire office to participate. Whether it’s a blue shirt or blue suede shoes, wearing blue together sends a powerful message:

Child abuse is preventable — and our community is committed to protecting children.

Take a photo of yourself or your group wearing blue and share it on social media. Don’t forget to tag @cscwashco so we can celebrate your support!

Why Blue?

The blue ribbon became a national symbol for child abuse prevention in 1989, when a grandmother tied one to her car in memory of her grandson who died as a result of abuse. Today, wearing blue each April honors children impacted by abuse and raises awareness that prevention is possible.

When you wear blue, you help shine a light on hope, healing, and a safer future for every child.
